SANDPOINT — A former Bonner County land use planner who claims he was railroaded out his job is suing to regain his position.

Counsel for Dan Carlson contends Bonner County commissioners violated Idaho’s open meeting law when deliberating and deciding whether he should be fired, which makes the board’s decision null and void. The filing also alleges that Carlson was denied a right to be heard after commissioners notified him he was subject to a personnel action.

Mischelle Fulgham and Jacob Brennan of Lukins & Annis in Coeur d’Alene filed the suit on Carlson’s behalf on Wednesday in 1st District Court.
