Private flight service launches in Sandpoint

SANDPOINT — Private flights in and out of the area are now an option with the expansion of Ascent Private Air Club. Ascent, a Rocky Mountain-focused air travel membership service, offers flights to Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. They now offer service to Sandpoint residents.

Memberships can be purchased for more than $9,500 by the end of November or $14,500 for after months end. The fees are collected at the beginning of the second year with the club. Annual dues cost $7,500 to $9,500, depending on what month the membership started.

The company focuses on travel to, from and within the Rocky Mountain west region. Ascent uses local operators and locally-based planes and crew.
