Schoening signs to play hoops for Lady Griz

MISSOULA, Mont. — She’s been tearing up the hardwood in Sandpoint for four years, and now senior Madi Schoening is set to take her considerable hoops skills to the next level, as the University of Montana announced its signing class on Tuesday. 

Schoening will arrive on campus next fall in a class that includes Gabi Harrington of Boise; Nora Klick of Simms, Mont.; Hailey Nicholson of Malta, Mont.; and Emma Stockholm of Chelan, Wash.

“Every year is a little different,” said 38th-year coach Robin Selvig. “We had access to a lot of good players, and they all wanted to come. A lot of times you’re not going to get all of them, but all of these kids committed fairly early. They are all good students and good athletes. And good kids, the kind of people we look for. We’re excited to have them.”
