Sandpoint set to clash with Bishop Kelly in title game
SANDPOINT — Two teams with a colorful playoff history will meet for the first time ever in the 4A state championship game on Saturday in the comfy confines of the Kibbie Dome.
No. 2 Sandpoint (8-3), winners of seven straight games, will look to end the season where they started it, and in similar fashion, against No. 1 ranked Bishop Kelly (9-2).
The Knights are trying to win their third straight 4A state title, but they’ll have to beat a salty, battle tested Bulldog squad to do so. A brutally tough schedule, which included wins over 5A Post Falls and Lake City, has prepared the Bulldogs for the rigors of a deep playoff run.
