Bulldogs set to host home XC meet

| October 9, 2015 7:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Attention local cross country fans: don’t miss the easiest chance to catch the two-time reigning 4A state champion Sandpoint girls when the Bulldogs host the 6th annual William Johnson Invitational on Saturday at Travers Park.

With more than 650 runners expected from the North Idaho schools at the race, Riley Creek could not accommodate the parking this year, so the event was moved to Travers.

The racing kicks off at 9 a.m. with the kids 800 meter fun run, followed by the Jr. high boys at 9:15, the Jr. high girls at 9:45, the JV girls at 10:15, the JV boys at 11, the varsity girls at 11:30 and the varsity boys will wrap up the prep action at high noon.

There will also be a 5K citizen race, free and open to any and all ages to run the same race course as the high school.
