Closed door is preferred method for operation

The trend of closed door hiring is not new to this position of the newly-formed city administrator in fact it is their preferred method. The current planning and zoning director, the fire chief, the police chief and two of the current council seats were chosen this way. All of those positions were not as polarizing as the new administrator position because there was already an existing position to be filled. I believe in a small town the city has an obligation to keep every move as open as possible to not allow nepotism to creep in to the process.
