Roeder wins motorcycle

| September 1, 2015 7:00 AM

Mike Roeder was the lucky winner of a fully-restored, vintage 1977 Kawasaki KZ400 motorcycle, which was donated by Papa Stew’s Cycles in Ponderay.

Hollis Stewart, an assistant coach on the Sandpoint American Legion U16 team which this year competed in the Washington sate tournament, restored the bike and in a generous gesture decided to raffle it off to raise money for the team’s expenses.

In a separate raffle put on by manager Ken Oler, a quarter beef from Wood’s was won by Rod Starr. The money from the two raffles went to help with travel costs and player registrations. Both coaches wished to thank everyone who participated in the raffles, which helps support a thriving local baseball scene.
