SANDPOINT — Children around Sandpoint returned to school Tuesday with most of them learning the ropes of how the year will work for rules and expectations during the first week, experimental learning teacher Nicole Huguenin said.

"The first week is procedure, rules, and expectations," Huguenin said. She teaches first through sixth graders at Farmin Stidwell Elementary.

The students toured the school Tuesday, learning where everything is, including the playgrounds and cafeteria. She said the students visited the cafeteria to learn the process of eating lunch at the school, and the students were taught things about being polite to each other.
