Aeroset receives supplemental certificate
On Aug. 26, Priest River-based Aerocet, Inc. was issued the supplemental type certificate for Aerocet Model 6650 amphibious floats equipped on Quests’ Kodaiak 100.
In a press release, Aerocet officials said the lightweight carbon composite floats eliminate leaks and corrosion typically associated with aluminum floats, thus substantially reducing maintenance time & costs especially for salt or brackish water operations.
Aerocet incorporated its patented oil-bath wheels for both 6.00-6 dual mains and a 5.00-5 single-nose wheel on the 6650s, virtually eliminating bearing maintenance. The company also used its advanced landing gear advisory system, granting pilots a leading edge product in safety and efficiency. Also, each float incorporates three large storage lockers for loading versatility.
“We are very proud of the product our team worked hard to build and excited to watch the floats, combined to the proven Kodiak 100 airframe go out the door and into worldwide fleets,” said Matthew Sigfrinius, Aerocet, Inc. general manager. “With extensive structural testing and over 400 flight test hours their light weight and slick forgiving hulls will give pilots the best advantage of flying safely and comfortably.”
Aerocet, Inc. was established in 1987 as a manufacturer specializing in composite aircraft floats. Aerocet is the world’s premier manufacturer of certified composite aircraft floats.
