Lack of explanation creating suspicion

| September 22, 2015 7:00 AM

Despite consistent opposition from the public, Sandpoint’s mayor, council, and now the city attorney have closed ranks not only in creating the city administrator position but effectively preventing public input in the selection process.

City Attorney Scot Campbell, in a lengthy blog entry, claims that the hiring is no different than that of any other department head and points to a citizen committee, appointed by the mayor herself, as being all the public input required. In his words, “the character, honesty, and good intentions of the committee are above reproach.”
