SANDPOINT — A Bonner County couple has until today to file delinquent Idaho income tax returns for three years in which their documented income totaled more than $173,000, according to the Idaho State Tax Commission.

The commission said Mark and Patricia Perlinger were ordered by 1st District Judge Barbara Buchanan to file returns for 2011-2013. Court records show that the couple had income of at least $56,779 in 2011, $57,338 in 2012 and $59,671 in 2013.

The tax commission regards the Perlingers as repeat offenders when it comes to filing late. The commission took administrative action on three occasions to get the couple to file overdue returns for 2005 to 2009.

"The vast majority of our taxpayers comply with the law without prompting, but there are a few who choose to ignore the requirements," Tax Commission Chairman Rich Jackson said in a statement. "To keep things fair for all the taxpayers who file their returns on time, we need to follow up with those who don't."
