A supporter of Sen. Shawn Keough, R-Sandpoint, recently opined in a letter that you have to live in Idaho for 10 years before you can have a political opinion and 15 years before you can voice it. This is, of course, laughable and speaks to a provincial state of mind; but sorry to say, I’ve heard this sentiment expressed by other Bonner County “old-timers” along with “We all used to be Democrats here,” “Republican used to be a dirty word,” and “we reigster as Republicans because that’s where the power is now.” It does help to immediately identify who the RINOs are, though.

Shawn Keough embodies these very sentiments. Her voting record consistently ranks below the most ardent Democrats in the Senate. It’s time for a change in that Idaho Senate seat and I, for one, will cast my vote for Glenn Rohrer.
