Registration deadline is set for grazing workshop

Cattle and trees can thrive together when managed properly. In April 2016, a half-day workshop titled “Forestland Grazing” will help participants will learn about and discuss: growing forests and cattle together, forage and browse species selection and grass management, management practices to enhance forest forage production, timber harvest techniques that stimulate understory forage and browse, and managing livestock stocking rates, distribution, and health on forestlands.

The program will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the University of Idaho Extension Office in Boundary County (6447 Kootenai — behind courthouse in Bonners Ferry, Idaho). Those wishing to participate should pre-register at the UI Extension Office in Boundary County by Friday, April 1. Registration is limited to 45 people, and a $15.00 registration fee covers resource materials and refreshments.
