SANDPOINT — Have you ever wanted to learn more about racing sailboats?

Once again, Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and the Sandpoint Sailing Association are combining to offer another free Saturday Sailing Workshop, providing valuable information for anyone interested in sailing.

The Racing Rules workshop will take place on Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sandpoint Community Hall (204 1st Ave). It's free and open to the public.

Using animated scenarios in class, participants will work their way up from basic right of way issues to mark roundings, obstructions and the process of filing a protest.

The workshops provide a great way to get involved in the local sailing community during the winter months. No pre-registration is required, and adults and youth at least 10 years-old are encouraged to attend.

Please check the Sandpoint Sailing Association website for more information at www.sandpointsailing.com, or call Parks and Rec at 263-3613.
