Spiritual journey is a transformation

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2.

As a young boy raised in a Christian family in Illinois, I accepted Jesus as my Savior and began a life of faith in Him. Years have passed and there have been some testings and some wonderful spiritual mountain top experiences, and God has been faithful to me.

In 1997, my wife and I moved to Sandpoint with a desire to continue to see transformation, not only in our own lives, but hopefully within the lives of people in our new community.

Through these years we have had close Christian fellowship with hundreds of people in the area and with many who from time to time have been involved with our ministry at River of Life (see www.sandpointriveroflife.com). We have also been involved in the business community and have experienced wonderful friendships from that avenue.

Part of the vision we have had is to bring Spirit-filled ministries to the area on a regular basis to further the concept of transformation in North Idaho (see www.tranformourworld.org). This weekend we will again offer Friday and Saturday night gatherings at The River, which are open to all who would be encouraged by them. We in no way would try to divert people from other Christ-centered ministries to become a part of an organization, but rather offer these opportunities to those who are spiritually hungry.

Our desire to see Bonner County impacted is exemplified by our cooperation with other believers working together in events such as the National Day of Prayer, which this year will be on May 5 at noon in Farmin Park in Sandpoint.

It is my desire to be a perfect example of an imperfect man serving the perfect God through His Son, Jesus Christ. To conclude, let me ask you to read 2 Corinthians 3: 16-18.

Ken Lawrence is pastor at River of Life Church.
