Chamber hosting lunch meeting

| April 12, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce would like to invite area residents and businesses to the April general membership luncheon to be held Thursday.

The luncheon meeting will be held from 12-1 p.m. in the Community Room of the Columbia Bank, 414 Church Street. The luncheon will be a panel discussion with the goal to connect the community with local law enforcement.

How well do you understand the roles of the various law enforcement agencies within our community? How do their roles differ? How do they integrate with one another, with the community at large, and with other social support resources? What are those resources? What are the most pressing issues and challenges facing our local law enforcement officers today? How can the public and the elected representatives best support law enforcement officers in securing public safety?

These and other questions from the audience will be addressed by the three-member law enforcement panel, which will include Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler, Ponderay Police Chief Michael C. Hutter, and Sandpoint police Chief Corey Coon. We hope this meeting will be the beginning of community dialogue with law enforcement and serve an overview of issues in general for the whole of Bonner County.

The cost of the luncheon is $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-chamber members. Please register for the luncheon online at www.sandpointchamber.com.
