In the United States of America, in 1860, slavery was legal and 1 percent of the white population owned 90 percent of the slaves. That 1 percent had the media, had the money, had the lobbyists and the politicians. That 1 percent was able to convince the rest of the white population that slavery was important enough to go to war for, to kill for, and to die for. That 1 percent was able to tear our United States of America apart.
