Sen. Shawn Keogh’s voting record “ranks below the most ardent Democrats in the Senate.” That absurd statement comes directly from the Idaho Freedom Foundation. The IFF downgrades legislators who vote for any measure that contains funding. Senator Keogh’s job as co-chair of JFAC requires her to vote on budgets and financial issues. She ranks below Democrats because Democrats don’t often vote on budgets.

A high score from the IFF means voting no on everything, including school budgets, public safety and better infrastructure. I consider a low score from the Freedom Foundation a badge of honor, since it implies keeping our students educated, our infrastructure working and our economy growing. I urge my fellow citizens to support Sen. Shawn Keogh and push back on the fringe candidates who say no to everything. Let’s not risk losing the strongest voice we have in Boise. Vote for Sen. Keough in the May 17 Republican Primary.
