Looking at the political affiliations of the Idaho Legislature, you’ll see that there are 35 senators, 28 of whom are Republicans. There are 70 representatives, 56 of whom are Republicans. Sounds like a bona fide “Red state,” right? Not when you look at their votes.

The 2016 legislative session just ended, and an analysis of legislators’ votes makes Republicans wonder once again: how do some of them get away with calling themselves Republican? On pro-free market and freedom-oriented issues their voting record is dismal, sometimes worse than Democrats.

Exhibit 1 is District 1 senator, Shawn Keough. In election years she occasionally provides a vote that allows her to claim being a conservative. Democrats love her record and vote for her. Republicans have been getting wise to her, and she almost lost the last election.

Let’s make sure it happens this time. Please vote for Glenn Rohrer on May 17.
