The North Idaho College Cardinal Chorale and Chamber Singers will present “Musical Roots” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at First Presbyterian Church at 521 E. Lakeside Ave. in Coeur d’Alene.

This concert celebrates how music can bind us together as a community. It will feature music ranging from American, Russian, Scottish, and Indonesian folk idioms. Of particular interest will be the arrangements of music from the folk movement of the 1960s. Such titles as “This Land is Your Land,” “Jamaica Farewell,” and “Will the Circle be Unbroken” will be featured.

North Idaho College Choral Union consists of the Cardinal Chorale and Chamber Singers. The Choral Union has a long tradition of performing moving performances for audiences in the Inland Northwest and beyond. Both choirs have traveled throughout the United States and North America. Recently, members of both ensembles performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The concert is free and open to everyone.
