Reeves leads Bulldog boys at Palouse Ridge

| April 15, 2016 1:00 AM

PULLMAN — Jack Reeves carded an 83 to lead the Bulldog boys on Thursday at the Pullman Invitational at Palouse Ridge Golf Club.

Nick Crowley shot 93 for the Bulldogs, as none of the boys putted particularly well.

“The putting was tough. Jack had 40 putts, he could have easily been in the 70s,” said Bulldog head coach Tom Tharp, who expects scores to drop with more course time. “I'm not too worried about that, putting will come.”

The Bulldogs have been practicing at the Idaho Club recently, a course that will sharpen their games for any course in the region. Thursday's conditions down south were cold and windy, which no doubt elevated the scores.

“It was 39 degrees when we teed off, with wind, then it started to rain,” described Tharp. “All in all, a blustery day.”

Joseph Glenn shot a 73 for Post Falls, which outshot Central Valley 300-310 for the team title. Sandpoint finished 15th overall in the 22 team tournament.

The Bulldog boys and girls are at Coeur d'Alene Public on Monday, playing a course that looks kind by the yardage book, but with pine trees lining every fairway, can play much tougher.
