Timberwolves take down Bulldogs in nonleague baseball action

| April 16, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Brandon Stapleton scored three runs, and Lake City limited Sandpoint to just one hit, cruising to a 13-1 win over the Bulldogs in nonleague baseball Friday at War Memorial Field.

Cody Garza and Kyle Manzardo each laced a triple and scored two runs, and Dominic Conigliaro scored twice for the Timberwolves (6-3), who got the bats going with a seven run third inning to blow a close game open.

Davan Norris had an RBI single for the Bulldogs' lone hit. The Bulldogs (6-9) loaded the bases in the second inning, but a diving catch by Manzardo on a short flair into right helped kill the rally.

Sandpoint is at Moscow in a big 4A IEL doubleheader on Tuesday.
