If you didn’t know, there’s a ballot question raising your taxes and growing government in the form of a $1 million Northside Fire levy, to hire 12 fulltime employees.

Among the Northside Fire commissioners proposing this levy is Lewis Rich. Mr. Rich is now running for county commissioner. Can you afford to triple your fire district taxes? Can you afford to vote for a county commissioner prone to raising taxes? Keep in mind, the fire district levy will be followed by the $55 million Lake Pend Oreille School District plant facility levy at the Aug. 30 election.

The inability to pay current taxes is evidenced by approximately 850 delinquency notice letters generated by the county treasurer. Dan McDonald has the experience, is a problem solver, and genuinely cares about the county. I urge you to vote “no” on the Northside levy, and vote “yes” for Dan McDonald for District 3 commissioner.
