Little League Opening Day on Saturday

| April 21, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Little League celebrates its annual Opening Day Ceremonies on Saturday, April 23, starging at 4 p.m. at War Memorial Field. Mike Henley of Idaho Forest Group, a longtime supporter in the development of baseball in Sandpoint, will take the honor of throwing out the ceremonial First Pitch.

More than 350 players, in six divisions of baseball and three divisions of softball, will compete throughout the spring. But first, every team from T-ball to Juniors will be called out onto the field and introduced.

The ceremonies will be followed by a game between the Red and Black Sandpoint Juniors baseball teams, which will include a Color Guard, singing of the National Anthem and the recitation of the Little League Pledge. First pitch for the Juniors game is slated for 5 p.m.

Please check out the schedules for all divisions available at www.sandpointlittleleague.com and come out and cheer on the future of baseball and softball in Sandpoint.

Sandpoint Little League would like to extend its appreciation to our sponsors. This program would not be possible without the generous support of many local businesses and organizations.
