Dan McDonald is the kind of candidate for county commissioner we need.

In discussions on county and state matters it’s clear that he does his homework and has an in-depth understanding of the issues. I applaud his stance for property rights, something we sorely need in this county, and he has a solid understanding of the Comprehensive Plan and its effects.

He also hasn’t been shy to put the spotlight on the Clagstone conservation issue, a case of crony capitalism that affects our county and taxpayers, not least in the employment area. As you may know, Bonner County’s unemployment just jumped to 7.3 percent, nearly double that of the state. Having spent his career in the private sector, he understands what it takes to run and expand a successful business.

Please join me in voting for Dan McDonald on May 17.
