Dear Bonner County citizens,

At a recent candidate forum, Lewis Rich, candidate for the District 3 county commissioner seat, said that he has always been a Republican.

A few months after losing the 2012 primary for the same position, he ran as an independent write-in candidate in the general election. It seemed to be a sour grapes attempt to make things go his way.

Can we trust someone who (a) won’t tell the truth about his party affiliation record, and (b) tries to undermine the Republican who soundly defeated him in the primary, right up to election time in November?

For the top elected position in the county, we need a top-notch candidate. Fortunately, we have one: Dan McDonald.
