Dairy Depot adds growlers, draft beer

SANDPOINT — The Dairy Depot gas station and convenience store has added growlers — take-home jugs of fresh-poured draft beer — to its product line. Six beers will be on tap daily and will rotate throughout the year to offer a variety of brands and beer types

Their fill station is a part of the latest beer-filling technology from The Growler Station. The Growler Station is a company that distributes Pegas Craftap Fillers, growler filling stations for craft beer stores and retailers who want to provide their customers with the freshest poured growlers money can buy.

“The reason we went with The Growler Station is that the Pegas Craftap Fillers are the best on the market,” Jay VanDenBerg, Dairy Depot owner, said. “Standard filling equipment delivers a growler of beer that loses its integrity from the moment it’s poured, resulting in a short shelf life of about two to three days. The Pegas retains the exact same environment from the keg to the growler, therefore never allowing the beer to begin to breakdown. The result is a growler that lasts for 30-45 days.”

VanDenBerg said the counter pressure filler eliminates oxygen before filling, which creates no foam and no mess giving Dairy Depot customers the freshest craft beer on tap, ready to be taken home and enjoyed.

The Dairy Depot sells its own glass growlers in 64-ounce and 32-ounce sizes but customers can also bring in their own glass growlers to be filled.

“Walk in or drive through to get your growler today,” he said.
