Yappy Hour season kicks off Thursday

SANDPOINT — Panhandle Animal Shelter is excited to kick off a new season of Yappy Hours, starting Thursday, April 28 at Laughing Dog Brewery.

A happy hour event for people and their dogs, Yapp Hour events are held at different locations on the last Thursday of the every month April through September. All Yappy Hour events are free to attend and all are welcome.

Yappy Hours are a unique and fun event for dog lovers. Dogs have an opportunity to play and socialize off-leash with other four-leggeds while their humans enjoy music, food and drink.

A beautiful spring day is in the forecast for this Thursday when Yappy Hours kicks off at Laughing Dog Brewing. Laughing Dog is now offering an array of flatbreads and salads. The band, Baldy Mountain Boys will be there playing in a designated space where fun-loving dogs and people can kick up their paws and have a good time.

All the locations are set and ready for this friendly competition with one truly big winner, the PAS animals. PAS hopes to see you and your dog out Thursday, April 28 at Laughing Dog Brewery from 4-7p.m. If you don’t have a dog, come anyway and meet PAS singles who are ready to mingle.

The Panhandle Animal Shelter serves the Inland Northwest, providing for approximately 1,600 lost, abandoned, neglected and abused animals every year. At the shelter cats and dogs receive a safe, nurturing environment and the opportunity to be placed into new adoptive homes. PAS programs also assist in the safe and prompt return of lost pets; in population control by spay/neutering animals prior to adoption and community outreach education.
