Dan McDonald seems well qualified to be a county commissioner but his opponent, Lewis Rich, is not. Mr. Rich’s poor performance and lack of leadership when commissioner caused me to run for his office. Four years ago, the discord among the commissioner was so bad that an outside mediator was needed to help them “get along” with each other. Now he wants his old job back … to take over where he left off?

Two examples: The $5 million-plus cost overrun of the Bonner County Courthouse remodel and the SilverWings lawsuit ($26 million) happened on his watch — and, in my opinion, could have been avaoided or significantly mitigated.

No, Mr. Rich had six years to demonstrate he was a capable commissioner — and failed. Vote for Dan McDonald for Bonner County commissioner, District 3.
