Do you love to contra dance?

| April 30, 2016 1:00 AM

Then Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and Lost Horse Press have teamed uponmonthly contra dancing. Contra dancing — community dancing for all ages — in the New England tradition, featuring live music with great local and regional bands and lively callers. Contras, circles, and occasionally squares or long ways sets are taught, called and danced in a friendly atmosphere.

The next dance will be held May 13 at Sandpoint Community Hall. The dance begins at 7 p.m. with an introductory lesson and runs until 10 p.m.

Comfortable, breathable clothing is best to wear: contra dancing is good exercise! Bring clean, comfortable, non-marking shoes to dance in.

There is a suggested donation is $5 per person. Sandpoint Contra Dance is sponsored by Emily Faulkner, Lost Horse Press and Sandpoint Parks & Rec.
