Litehouse Inc. had two violations of Sandpoint's Municipal Sewer Ordinance for discharging waste water with a FOG (Fats Oils and Grease) limit above 250mg/l on 05/10/2016 and again 05/25/2016. Per city code each violation requires a minimum $250 fine and recovery costs to the city. Litehouse has been working on more vigorous training to prevent future violations and is in the process of building a pretreatment plant on site to treat their waste before discharging it to the Publicly Owned Treatment Works.
