Many of the current Sandpoint football players got their start in what used to be called Junior Tackle football, and is now called Grid Kids. Sandpoint senior running back Levi Irish, pictured above catching a field goal this week at a voluntary practice at SHS and right several years ago running the ball, is one such player. The SHS football coaches, along with the youth coaches, will be holding a free two-day football camp on Aug. 10-11, from 5-7 p.m. at SHS for all area third through eighth graders, whether they’re planning to play Grid Kids football this season or not.
