I am excited and looking forward to casting my vote for the school levy on Aug. 30.

The $55 million, six-year levy will enable us to replace schools — Northside Elementary and Sandpoint Middle completely, and the main building at Washington Elementary — build a new Clark Fork vocational technical facility, and add much needed safety and security features at all schools. VoteOurSchools.org and LPOSD.Org each have details of the proposals.

Our schools are doing a great job of educating our kids and grandkids; research tells us that with improved facilities we can see an increase in testing results and student preparedness.

Please join me in voting yes on Aug. 30 for the school levy.
