| August 9, 2016 1:00 AM

Catherine Ann Price, 87, went peacefully to be with her lord on April 7, 2016, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Encinitas, Calif.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis C. Day officiating. The Rosary will be said at 7 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Inurnment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery.

Catherine was born July 2, 1928, in Oak Park, Ill., to Harold and Hazel Mahoney. She grew up in Oak Park, Ill., and went to Northwestern University where she studied to be an X-ray technician. She had wanted to be a doctor but her father, who had helped bring X-ray into the United States from Germany, told her women were to be nurses.

She had a strong Irish personality and decided an X-ray tech was closer to being a doctor.

She married John Muel-ler in 1951 and had their first child, Michael Mueller, and moved to San Francisco. They went on to have two more sons, John Mueller III (wife Nicole, grandson Jonathon), and Kevin Mueller (wife Colleen, granddaughter Tiff); and a daughter, Cynthia (Mueller) Filips, husband Gary, and grandchildren Alexander, Samantha and Christopher.

Her first husband, John passed away in 1960. She remarried, to Frank Salvisberg in 1967 and moved from Marin County to Loomis, Calif. Her second husband, Frank, passed away in 1992.

She then married her third husband, longtime friend, Richard Price in 1993. They left California, happily, in 1997 to a place they so loved, Sandpoint, Idaho. Richard passed away in 2006.

She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s parish and loved to take communion to the sick and homebound. She loved football and was a longtime 49er fan.

She also was an animal lover of all kinds but especially her cat, Martin, and dogs (Boxers) all with biblical names, Petra, Bismark, Sarah, Soloman, Rachel and Rebecca, who just passed on July 31, 2016.

Family and friends are invited to sign Catherine’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
