If you bring children into a candy store, instruct them to take as much as they want, as the store owner will pay for the candy, what do you think they will do?
The $55 million Lake Pend Oreille School District levy will be a spending spree, where a plethora of school demolition, building, and remodeling, is the candy, and The LPOSD property taxpayers are the store owner.
Many property taxpayers understand the need for a new middle school. Had the LPOSD Board of Trustees placed a reasonable request on the ballot for a new middle school, I would be more than happy to vote for it. In this levy proposal, they have simply gone too far.
Please send a strong message to the trustees to go back to the drawing boards, and return with a reasonable request, by voting “against” in the special election to be held on Aug. 30.
