Robert Thomas 'Bob' Hof, 80

Robert Thomas “Bob” Hof, 80, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at his home in Sagle, Idaho.

Private family services wiltl be held at a later date.

Bob was born on April 6, 1936 in Pasadena, Calif., to George and Melva Hof. He grew up in the Pasadena area and attended schools in Vista, Calif. Bob married Donna Meadows on July 20, 1957, in Long Beach. The couple made their home first in La Puente and later in La Mirada, where Bob worked for GTE. Bob’s career took them to Redmond, Kennewick and, in 1978, to Sandpoint. He retired in 1989.

Bob attended the Southside Community Church, and helped start the Sagle Volunteer Fire Department. He was a sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved his family, especially sledding and camping with them.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna Hof of Sagle; three daughters, Becky (Mario) Monson of Baker City, Ore., Karen Hof of Pasco, Wash., and Penni (Daniel) Garbutt of Kennewick, Wash.; six grandchildren, Amanda, Tiffany, Robert, Ted, Jonathan, and Kayla; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Hof.
