SHS readies for school's start

| August 21, 2016 1:00 AM

Sandpoint High School is busy preparing for the 2016-17 school year. Tenth-, eleventh- and twelfth- grade students and their parents, are welcome to come into the school between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to pick up their parent verification forms beginning Monday, Aug. 22.

To ensure the safety and security of all students, it is important that these forms are updated annually. After the forms have been updated and signed by a parent, the school will release the student’s class schedules. Students will be able to purchase parking permits, yearbooks, and ASB stickers. Also students are encouraged to have their picture taken and receive their student ID. All-Star Photo will be coming later in September to take school photos. Sandpoint High School is able to accept credit/debit cards at the bookkeeper’s window.

Ninth-grade students, as well as new students and their families, are invited to attend Sandpoint High School’s orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 24. The evening will begin with a free barbecue at 5:30 p.m., sponsored by CARE, the SHS parent support group.

Beginning at 6 p.m. parents and students will meet in the gym for a brief overview of the upcoming year after which schedules will be distributed. Freshmen and new students will choose lockers, have their photo taken and receive an ID card. They may also purchase an ASB sticker along with yearbooks and pay class fees.

The SHS office is open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for new student registration and school business. No schedules will be available prior to Monday.

School begins Tuesday, Sept. 6.
