I worked in the maintenance department for this school district for 29 years and am no retired. I have had first-hand experience in repairs to all the building and have noticed a major increase in the need for repairs in the last couple of years. The buildings are showing signs of fatigue and we need to fix them now.

I have also seen first-hand how this administration has worked hard to make the monies go as far as it could. I trust them to wisely do the same with my tax dollars (on my fixed income) for these projects. I know this was not an easy decision for them to make any more than it will be easy for me to come up with those extra tax dollars.

Our children need to be educated in a safe environment. Our parents and grandparents took care of us on limited incomes. It’s time for us to take care of the next generation. Let’s step up to the plate and hit a home run for LPOSD by voting “yes” on Aug. 30.
