New Sandpoint 7th grade football team seeks players

SANDPOINT — Mose Dunkel and Owen Rust are looking for a few more players to sign up for a new 7th grade football team in Sandpoint, but the deadline is next Friday.

The new team, which will play in the Coeur d’Alene Junior Tackle League, needs more players before they can join the league.

“Coeur d’Alene is giving us a bunch of extra time,” said Dunkel, a longtime youth football coach in the area. “We’re at 11 kids, and we’d like to have 16. We have until next Friday.”

Anyone is welcome to join, regardless of experience. Financial assistance is also available. The league fees are $125, which includes gear and eight games. For more info on the league, visit www.cdajrtackle.org.
