Auleene Johnson Maurer, 91

Auleene Johnson Maurer, 91, has passed away. She died in her home in Mesa, Ariz., on the night of Dec. 1, 2016, due to heart complications.

Auleene, the daughter of Perry Paul and Clistie Mae Johnson, was born in York, Neb. She moved to Logan, Utah, when she was about 5 years old.

She later met and married Fred Wesley Maurer on Dec. 2, 1942. After being married for 10 years, they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, to raise their family and have a “farm.”

She is survived by her loving children, Marilyn Coon, Cindy Eggleston, Earl Maurer, and Stan Maurer, all living in Idaho.

She also leaves behind 32 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren and five great- great- grandchildren. She is welcomed home by her husband, Fred; her sisters, Opal, Mary, and Mae; and her son, Steve Maurer.

Auleene lived with her husband in the Sandpoint area for 40 years as she raised her children and spent countless hours volunteering for many organizations. She loved her volunteer work as well as reading and spending time with her family.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services will be held in Logan, Utah, on Dec. 28, 2016, at 10 .am.
