Ronald S. Hagadone, 68
Ronald S. Hagadone, 68, of Meridian, Idaho, died on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, of natural causes.
He was a graduate of Sandpoint High School in Sandpoint, Idaho, earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Idaho and a master’s degree at Indiana State University. Ronald worked as a high school science teacher and counselor in Texas and Idaho for over 30 years. While teaching, he was instrumental in reviving baseball at Sandpoint High School in 1989 before becoming the head coach.
Ronald served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of lieutenant. During his naval career, he spent time working in the recruiting office in Indianapolis.
He spent a great deal of time working within the community. Ronald was a proud member of the Meridian Lion’s Club, Knights of Columbus and Eagle Stamp Club. His charity of choice was the Lion’s Sight and Hearing Foundation, spending copious amounts of time collecting/sorting/cleaning donated glasses to be given to those in need. Earlier in his life he was active with the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Ronald enjoyed activities that allowed him to experience Idaho’s natural beauty, especially fishing. He was also a fan of various sports, mainly baseball and Notre Dame football.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Cathy; his sons, Josh Watts, Andy Watts and Michael (Sabrina) Hagadone; a daughter, Katie (T.J.) Jakush; and a brother, Mike (Sandra) Hagadone. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Penny Anne Watts and John Thomas Watts of Marietta, Ga., Barrett Hagadone and Colin Hagadone of Meridian, and Calvin Jakush of Boise, Idaho.
A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Road on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. The family asks in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to the Idaho Lion’s Sight and Hearing Foundation at 1090 N. Cole Road, Boise, ID 83704.
