Parks and Rec youth basketball leagues forming now

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Parks and Recreation will put the fun in fundamentals again this season for all area youth in grades 3-6 interested in playing basketball. There is also a league for 7th/8th graders, see below.

The league will run from Feb. 11 through March 18, for both girls and boys teams. Practices are held once per week at area schools, and games are played on Saturdays.

The registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 9, so sign up soon to guarantee your spot on a team. Registration forms will be in area schools after winter break. Sandpoint youth sport jersey is required. Jerseys cost $14 and are available at the Parks and Rec office (1123 Lake St.).

The fees per player are $35 County/ $30 within city limits, and there are discounts for more than one player in the family. Scholarships are available ($50 max awarded per child per booklet).

n Parks and Rec 7th-8th grade basketball league

Sandpoint Parks and Recreation is offering a 7th and 8th Grade basketball league, also from Feb. 11 to March 18.

This league is open to both girls and boys.
