Article misled public on gun deaths

I was intrigued by the recent article “Idaho gun deaths outpace state’s vehicle deaths,” so I went to the source of the data to investigated further.

I was surprised that the article failed to mention that of the 213 gun deaths, 182 of them were suicides, with only 25 homicides. I don’t see how any gun safety regulations would have prevented those suicides, there are of course many other means even if they had no access to guns.
