Hawks top Bulldogs in 4A IEL wrestling dual

RATHDRUM — Mahonri Hunsaker (152 pounds), Tyler Presser (160), Casey Randles (182) and Calum Wilcox (195) earned pins for Sandpoint, which lost 51-33 to Lakeland in a 4A Inland Empire League wrestling dual Friday night at Lakeland High School.
Hyrum Hunsaker (145) also picked up a win by decision for the Bulldogs (11-5), who came out on fire to
“We knew it was going to be a close dual on paper,” Lakeland coach Rob Edelblute said. “Sandpoint has some studs, they started out with seven wins. We had eight straight wins, seven of them pins.”
Sandpoint will now turn its attention to next Saturday in the 4A Region I District 1-2 tournament at Lakeland, where state berths will be earned.
