Aspiring CFHS chefs right on track

CLARK FORK — Things are heating up at Clark Fork High School with the latest addition to its experimental learning program. In response to student demand, administrators recently created a Culinary Arts Track.
Mike Turnlund, experimental learning coordinator and social studies teacher at CFHS, explains that members of the school's faculty created and initiated the program. It debuted last fall with three tracks: the Great Outdoors, the Arts and Tech. Class sessions take place every Friday.
"It's been a runaway success," according to Turnlund, Participants choose a track and then work as a group or develop individual projects with the support of a mentor. Experimental learning instructors and mentors are often experts from the surrounding community, he says.
