The Clark Fork High School Wampus Cats (3-18) saw their season end with a 72-17 loss to No. 4 state-ranked Genesis Prep in a loser-out game of the 1A Division II boys basketball tournament Tuesday night at Timberlake High School.

Hunter Boudousquie led the Cats with six points, Spencer Jerres and Jensen Heisel each scored four and Stevens three in the one-sided loss.

Genesis Prep has owned even the 3A competition in North Idaho, and will most likely move up in classification next season.

“We just couldn’t shoot the ball against them. We didn’t have any confidence,” said Cats head coach George Thornton. “They just took it right to us. Our defense wasn’t that bad.”
