COCOLALLA — A Selkirk Fire Rescue & EMS firefighter donned an ice rescue suit to extricate a hound dog that became trapped in a truck that overturned in a flooded ditch along U.S. Highway 95.

Selkirk Fire Lt. Allo Pucci said the pickup truck, which had a dog enclosure in its bed, overturned in about 4 feet of water. The unidentified driver and five of the hounds managed to escape the wreckage, but a sixth hound remained pinned.
