Natural Balance Massage expanding into Sandpoint

SANDPOINT — Natural Balance Massage has been operating at the Pend Oreille Shores Resort in Hope since 1993.

Now, licensed massage therapist Cathryn Cyr, who has been a massage therapist since 1986, has opened an office at Belleza Design Salon in Sandpoint. Cyr, who is also a certified nurse’s assistant, has an associate’s degree in mental health, which gives her a variety of experiences working in different health care settings.

“I first discovered the benefits of massage, by offering massage to non-verbal clients I was working with in a large state hospital over 30 years ago,” she said. “I found a shoulder rub or foot massage opened up a form of communication and connecting with others, without words.”

A desire to reach a larger portion of the community prompted the move to open the Sandpoint office, Cyr said.
