Is divisive fear what we want?

Since the arrest of the accomplice who bought the guns for the San Bernardino terrorists, there has been no noise from National Rifle Association about the Second Amendment rights of anybody to own massacre weapons.
That slaughter by two radical Muslims simply emphasized the fear in the hearts of many Republicans including presidential candidates, government officials from Congress to local officials, and writers of letters to editors.
Why all the fear mongering?
