SANDPOINT — Idaho representatives Heather Scott and Ronald Nate released a draft Wednesday of legislation that will make it a constitutional right to carry a concealed weapon.

If passed, the bill would legalize carrying a concealed weapon without a permit inside and outside of incorporated city limits throughout the state. Scott and Nate say the bill will eliminate potential confusion in Idaho's gun laws and provide consistency across in counties and cities.

Open carry is allowed everywhere in Idaho. But permit-less carry is allowed everywhere with the exception of city limits, creating concerns for law-abiding who commute between cities.
